Stop It!

We all have challenges in our lives, some big and some small. Most of the time we get through the challenges and move onto the next without considerable concern. However, there are times when our guards are down or fatigue wares us down and we succumb to fear.

It all starts with a thought, mostly from the words of other people as they plant seeds of their own fears in our garden of thoughts. The sad thing is, we let them without any discernment or qualifying.

The good news is, you have the power to hold every thought captive. Stop the thoughts before they enter your soul.

When a new thought comes ask, is this thought based in fear or is it a life-giving thought?
If the thought is based in fear, stop thinking that thought immediately and redirect your attention to the opposite.
If the thought is founded in life, love and promotion, embrace it by meditating on it's goodness towards your life and what you life will look like after its adoption.
Move into a state of praise and gratitude. A grateful heart prospers much.
If your behaviour has been modified because of the acceptance of negative thoughts into your life.... Stop it.
Stop the behaviour and do the opposite - that's what repentance is; It's acknowledging and turning away from a negative/harmful state of being and re-aligning your soul with the way God intended it to be.
Practice good and healthy thoughts that build up your identity.

Living As A Victim

Today I was thinking about living as a victim. There are many people I know who live a life in despair, fear and constant defeat. It's as if they are carrying around a dead person. They live a life in a self-imposed imprisonment. It's so sad. They miss it on so much fun, life, relationships and so much beauty in the world. I was one of them. I was a victim.

Here is what I've learnt....

1. I realised I put myself in my own prison. No one but me put me there. I did it to myself, by myself. Sure, bad things happen, but my responses to them dictates my outcome.

2. I let the past cripple my future and my friends not knowing any better supported me in my pain and injustice.

3. I was reliant of the support I was getting from my victimisation and liked the attention. This took lots of time facing up to this one. When the lie was exposed the truth could be seen and action could be taken.

4. The only person I was hurting was me. Life continued without me. For me time stood still and I was paralyzed.

5. I lived to sabotage every good thing that tried to come into my life.

6. Justice was never going to be served here on earth, so I had to learn to let it ALL go!

7. No good or happiness comes from living a life as a victim.

8. There is NO LOVE, joy or peace or pleasure gained being a victim.

9. Knowing the only place for lasting heart healing transplant comes from God.

LIFE IN FREEDOM

1. The power of your free-will choice is more powerful than you think. You can change your world and your history.

2. Self-centred living ends. Once your heart is healed by Jesus, there is no desire to be self-defeating anymore. Hope takes over. Faith starts to build up. Instead of inward seeking, your focus is outward focused.

3. Love fills every lonely space. And I'm meaning, know God loves you, his not mad at you for the mistakes you've made, he wants to be part of your life brings a new paradigm of love into your life.

4. Kindness from a position of abundance of the heart produces greater satisfaction than living as a victim.

5. Lastly, GRATITUDE encompasses every part of your life. Joy comes from everywhere!

Empowered to Thrive

What if it's true? “In the beginning, God created (Creator of the Universe)”, if we have heart knowledge of this fact the experience of life changes dimensions to one of position and privilege. From position and privilege comes gratitude and abundance.

Many don’t believe there is a God who created everything, including them and they find themselves seeking answers without anyone responding. How frustrating it must be, knowing as you yell out questions to the universe of evolution nothing is always going to answer back.

The funny thing to me is that you’re free to choose even if it's not the truth. You can choose that the wind doesn’t exist because you can’t see it, but it doesn’t change the fact it does.

For me knowing that there is a creator greater than I am gives me the confidence that someone is holding all of creation together for me and my life matters and my life wasn’t an accident.

In fact, the Creator loves me so much he gave me a Spirit of knowledge, wisdom and discernment. This in turn produces confidence and inner power. Coupled with the power of free-will choice… we as Christians should be unstoppable.

Just think for a moment, if I’m wrong and delusional my life which was created will naturally produce better results because of the faith and hope that the knowledge of a Creator offers me over time.

Now, on the other hand, let’s say you’re delusional and I’m right. What does a life lacking a Creator produce? May I say, helplessness, aimlessness, hopelessness, spiritual blindness, fear, anxiety, and no reason to exist. You’re free to argue, but the facts remain for me, life with a Creator is far better than without.

As a result, I've discovered, maybe it would be wise to get to know the Creator from his autobiography and why he thought it was important for him to create me?

The Bible is the only book that has a record of the Creation of the world we live in and why God made us?

ACTION STEPS: Start with a New Living Translation Bible, Read the first two chapters of Geneses concerning creation and then find Ephesians chapter 1 & 2 and discover how much God loves you.

Rise Above Worry

Rise Above Worry

We all worry from time to time, but wise people have learned to avoid over-anxiety by following these guidelines...

Define the situation clearly. What exactly is it you’re worrying about? Be specific. Often when we take time to clarify the problem, a way to solve it will present itself.
Face the worst that can happen. Would you lose your job? Your relationship? Your investment? In most cases even if the worst did happen, chances are it wouldn’t ruin you. It may be inconvenient or painful, but does it really warrant all the anxiety you’re giving it?
Resolve to accept the outcome, whatever it is. Most of the stress of worry comes from denial, from not being willing to face the worst that could happen. Once you make up your mind to accept whatever happens, you’ll find worry loses its power over you.
Work to improve the situation. Renowned neurologist James H Austin said, ‘Chance favours those in motion.’ Do all you can to ensure the best possible outcome, and ‘…after you have done everything…stand.’ (Ephesians 6:13) Stand on God’s promises!
Give the problem to God. The Psalmist said, ‘And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.’ (Psalm 9:10) Remember, nothing can happen to you today, or any other day, that God is not aware of, in control of, and able to bring you through.

The marvelous opportunity you control is how you respond to worry. Just, Stop It!

Apparently, 98% of the things we worry about NEVER happen, so why worry! Stop It Now! Yes, choose to stop worrying. Share your concerns with God and let Him (who is greater than every problem) deal with it for you or at the least He will show you a way out.

Live in the victory of Christ today and thrive!

Living From Purity

Living From Purity

When gold is refined over extreme heat the first thing to come to the surface is dross. Dross is defined as the mass of solid impurities floating on a molten metal. The dross has no value and it is often referred to as scum. The dross must be removed so that the molten metal is purified. The next thing to be separated from it is silver, a less precious metal that blends with the raw gold ore.

There’s an important lesson here. Most of us are unable to separate the good from the best, so Malachi writes, ‘He will purify…and refine them like gold’. God does it, because we don’t know how!

After committing adultery with Bathsheba, David writes, ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.’ (Psalm 51:10 NKJV) David prays for two things: a clean heart and a steadfast desire to walk in purity.

Personal failure is usually the result of a slow, steady build-up, rather than a single act of disobedience. It happens when we focus on the wrong things and neglect our spiritual life. So God calls us to the place of solitude, a place with no distractions, in order to probe our deepest thoughts and open our eyes to certain issues that need attention. It is here He makes us aware of what we excuse, or try to hide from others. It’s here the junk we’ve collected during the busy hours of our day gets filtered out.

With the debris out of the way, we’re able to see things more clearly and respond to God’s nudgings. There’s no way to have a deeper, more intimate relationship with God without the discipline James talks about: ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands…and purify your hearts…’ (James 4:8 NKJV)

Spend quality time with God and allow the Holy Spirit to point out the things holding you back. God has made you whole through Jesus finished works. Everything else is a lie to prevent you moving into your full potential.

This Day Will Never Come Again
